Who We Are
A Picture's Worth (APW) is a Cincinnati-based nonprofit dedicated to ethical, community-centered storytelling. This project is part of Letters to America, a national archive curated by Made by Us, with content also shared with local Cincinnati nonprofit partners.
What You're Agreeing To
By submitting your story, you are granting A Picture's Worth, Made by Us (national Letters to America archive), and approved local Cincinnati nonprofit partners permission to use your audio recording, photograph, and identifying information (name, neighborhood) in connection with the Letters to America: Youth Voices project.
Your story may be used in: the national Letters to America archive, public radio broadcasts, print and digital publications, public exhibitions, educational materials, social media, and community events. APW will always credit you as you have requested.
If You Are Under 18
A parent or guardian must provide their contact information and give their written consent (via the checkbox in the form) on your behalf. Their permission is required for your story to be included.
What We Will Never Do
We will never sell your story or personal information to third parties. We will never use your story in a context that misrepresents your intent. We will never share your contact information (or your parent's, if applicable) publicly.
Your Right to Change Your Mind
You can stop, re-record, or cancel at any time before submitting — nothing is final until you tap "Submit."
You also retain ownership of your story even after submitting. You may request removal from any or all uses at any time by contacting elissa@apicturesworth.org. Removal requests are honored within 30 days, except where materials have already been printed, broadcast, or installed.
How We Store Your Data
Your audio recording, photo, and contact information are stored securely. Only authorized APW staff and approved partners have access to your submission. We follow best practices for data protection.
Trauma-Informed Approach
APW practices trauma-informed storytelling. You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with. You may stop your recording at any time. If you share something difficult, we may reach out to ensure you have access to support resources.
